How erik oskr Sold Out a Pill Bottle Side Table

The erik oskr case study. See how Oskar Flodstrom turned a viral pill bottle side table into 150,000 dollars in sales in two weeks with no upfront inventory.

How erik oskr Sold Out a Pill Bottle Side Table

Oskar Flodstrom had an idea and an audience of four thousand people. Two weeks after launch, his brand erik oskr had sold 150,000 dollars of a product he owns. This is the story of what happened in between, and why it is the clearest proof of what No Logo does.

An idea that already existed

Oskar moved to Los Angeles to be an artist. For four years he surfed couches, taught kids swim lessons for about 1,400 dollars a month, and built furniture in a 120 square foot room. He posted a video of a mirror he made and it hit a million views. Then he filmed the process behind a three foot pill bottle shaped hamper he bent out of a sheet of acrylic he found on the side of the road. That one did half a million views. At the time he had four thousand followers.

The idea was already there. The audience, small as it was, was already there. What Oskar did not have was a way to turn a viral object into a real product without money, a factory, or years of sourcing experience. That gap is where almost every product idea dies.

Where most product ideas die

You can have the best idea in your category and still get stuck for a year trying to find a factory that will make it well. Language barriers, time zones, minimum order quantities, quality control from thousands of miles away, and a real chance you pay for samples that never become a usable product. Most people never cross that gap. They give up, or they settle for a version that is not really theirs.

Oskar was staring at the same wall. A viral object, no way to build it at quality, and no capital to gamble on a five thousand unit run.

What No Logo did

A member of the No Logo team saw the hamper video and sent Oskar a message. He submitted his concept as a sample. From there No Logo did the part that usually takes a year.

We took the concept into our factory network, engineered it into something that could be produced at quality, and sent a finished sample back for him to approve. No capital out of his pocket. No minimum order to clear first. Because we have people on the ground in China and factory relationships already built, the sourcing and sampling that stops most people cold was already handled.

Oskar held the finished piece, approved it, and launched erik oskr.

The launch

The store did 50,000 dollars on day one. Two weeks in it had done 150,000 dollars. Oskar personally took home 34,000 dollars, close to two years of his old income. His following went from four thousand to thirty one thousand in the process. The launch product, the Pill Bottle Side Table, sells for 225 dollars.

He put the first checks back into the thing that made them. Five new sample products, an apartment, and a truck to haul materials. One viral object became the start of a real product company.

Why it worked

Oskar had a product worth making and no simple way to make it. The viral video opened the door, but the launch happened because the hard part was handled. No Logo turned the concept into a finished, quality checked product he owns, with no upfront inventory and full transparency on what it costs to make.

The same process works for anyone sitting on a product idea. One founder came to us after a full year of dead ends sourcing a pants project. His next product, a hoodie, was sourced and produced in about two weeks. The starting point does not matter much. The making is what we handle.
